Kannada leads the charge while Hindi advance booking shows strong momentum; with four days to go, Toxic is eyeing a massive opening
The advance booking for Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has exploded within just 24 hours, and the latest numbers suggest that the long-awaited comeback of the KGF star is heading towards a massive theatrical opening.
The film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, opened its Day 1 advance booking on August 21, and audiences have responded particularly strongly in Karnataka, while the Hindi version has also started building impressive momentum.
As of the latest KBP REVIEW tracking available on August 22, Toxic has sold 2.72 lakh tickets across India, generating around ₹11.92 crore gross from confirmed bookings, excluding blocked seats. Including blocked seats, the figure rises to approximately ₹19.66 crore.
Toxic is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on August 26, 2026, marking Yash’s first theatrical release after KGF: Chapter 2. The combination of his four-year absence, the scale of the project and the curiosity around Geetu Mohandas’ unusual action world appears to be translating directly into ticket sales.
The Kannada 2D version has already sold around 1.56 lakh tickets, generating approximately ₹7.02 crore gross across 1,355 shows. The Kannada IMAX and 4DX versions have added another 5,174 tickets, taking the overall Kannada advance considerably higher.
Karnataka is naturally leading the film’s advance booking, with the state recording around ₹7.88 crore in confirmed gross, while the figure including blocked seats stands at approximately ₹11.53 crore.
Hindi Advance Booking Is The BIG Surprise
While Karnataka was always expected to remain the backbone of Toxic, the real surprise is the speed at which the Hindi version is picking up. The Hindi 2D version has sold around 1.06 lakh tickets, collecting approximately ₹3.90 crore, while the Hindi IMAX and 4DX formats have added further business.
At that stage, the publication estimated that the Hindi version could potentially target a ₹45-55 crore net opening, provided the pace remained strong.
The Hindi version had crossed 45,000 tickets in PVR INOX and Cinepolis alone, with five days still remaining before release.
Theatre Owners Are Expanding The Show Count
KBP REVIEW is currently tracking more than 9,000 Day 1 shows across different languages and formats, with exhibitors expected to add more screens and shows as the release date approaches.
The CBFC has also certified the film A in India, with a reported runtime of approximately 3 hours and 14 minutes, making it a lengthy theatrical experience aimed at adult audiences.
With 2.72 lakh tickets already sold, ₹11.92 crore gross locked without blocked seats, ₹19.66 crore including blocked seats, and four days still remaining, the next few days could completely change the opening-day equation.

Batwara1947 Box Office Report – Sunny Deol’s Film Struggles To Recover In Second Week
Sunny Deol starrer Batwara 1947 is facing a difficult theatrical run after a weak first week and a steep drop in collections.
According to the KBP REVIEW tracking, the film collected ₹33.60 crore net during its first week, with the day-wise performance showing a sharp decline after the opening weekend.
It earned ₹5.75 crore on Day 1, ₹13.50 crore on Saturday and ₹7.25 crore on Sunday before dropping to ₹2 crore on Monday.
The film then collected ₹2.25 crore on Tuesday, ₹1.50 crore on Wednesday and ₹1.35 crore on Thursday, taking its Week 1 total to ₹33.60 crore. Day 8 added only around ₹75 lakh, while the latest live tracking for Day 9 stood at approximately ₹34.37 crore net in India.
