Kartik Aaryan’s latest action-packed schedule has ended on an unfortunate note. The actor suffered a severe knee injury while shooting an intense action sequence for Kabir Khan’s upcoming sports drama, forcing the production team to temporarily pause the shoot as he focuses on recovery.
According to KBP REVIEW, the injury occurred during the final stretch of the yet-untitled film, when the team filmed important action portions in Mumbai.
Kartik subsequently went to Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mahim, where doctors treated him. Reports state that doctors advised him to undergo surgery, followed by a short period of complete rest.
The timing makes the setback particularly unfortunate. The film was reportedly nearing the completion of its shoot, with only the final days of filming remaining when the accident happened.
Kartik’s Physically Demanding Role – Kabir Khan’s project reportedly draws inspiration from the life of young Indian kickboxer Tajamul Islam, with Kartik portraying a coach who trains a young girl.
The role naturally demands a physically intense performance, making the action portions an important part of the film.
The project also reunites Kartik with Kabir Khan after their earlier collaboration, Chandu Champion, another film that required the actor to undergo an intense physical transformation and perform physically challenging sequences
Interestingly, the upcoming sports drama also holds significance for Kartik away from acting. He is making his debut as a co-producer through his production banner, Dopamine Studios, adding another personal investment to the project.
While Kartik and the filmmakers have not officially disclosed the exact nature of the knee injury, multiple reports describe it as serious enough to require surgical intervention.
The Shoot Was Almost Complete – For the makers, the biggest relief is that the accident happened right at the finish line.
The team had already completed most of the film before the injury, and the remaining schedule focused on the final action portions. The immediate priority now remains Kartik’s health.
The actor is expected to rest for a few days following the procedure before gradually returning to work. His upcoming commitments could also change depending on his recovery timeline.
Kartik’s next schedule includes Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic film, where he stars opposite Sreeleela.
The actor has already reportedly completed a substantial portion of that project, meaning his recovery period could determine how the two productions manage their respective schedules.

Hollywood has traditionally overcome that barrier through its enormous global distribution network, while Indian cinema has largely depended on subtitles and dubbed versions outside its core territories. His ambition is to make that journey significantly smoother for Ramayana.
Malhotra has described the film as an opportunity to use decades of experience in visual effects and filmmaking technology to tell an Indian story on an international scale.
