Toxic Teaser Review: Yash In His Darkest Avatar

The much-awaited teaser of ‘ Ladies & Ladies ’ from Yash starrer Toxic is finally out, This is not the kind of cinema Indian audiences are usually accustomed to seeing from mainstream superstars.

After rewriting box office history with KGF Chapter 2, Yash has returned, but instead of choosing another conventional mass action entertainer, the actor seems to have stepped into completely unexplored territory. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, Toxic immediately feels different, dangerous, provocative and visually unapologetic in ways very few Indian films like Animal, KabirSingh and More have attempted before.

This film has absolutely no intention of playing safe But it would be HUGE CONTROVERSIAL.
The strongest aspect of the teaser is undoubtedly Yash himself, There is an entirely different aura surrounding his screen presence here. The loud speaks, larger-than-life swagger of Rocky Bhai from KGF, Toxic presents Yash with a far more controlled but intensely dangerous energy, and honestly, it works. Another major surprise comes from the overall boldness of presentation. The teaser openly embraces a mature visual style, using intimate moments, sensual framing and deliberately provocative imagery as part of its storytelling language rather than simply adding glamour for attention.

The Best Thing, Without revealing the actual story, the teaser creates an interesting sense of tension between power, attraction, danger and emotional manipulation. There is clearly a controversial undertone in the narrative design, and Geetu Mohandas seems fully committed to exploring morally grey spaces rather than conventional hero-driven storytelling.

The makers seem to be deliberately chasing a far more global aesthetic, And it shows The background score deserves separate appreciation. The music perfectly complements the dangerous atmosphere of the teaser. Rather than relying on loud heroic elevation moments, the background score builds psychological tension and adds to the overall unsettling tone. The way the makers introduced the disclaimer itself signals that the film knows it may trigger debates, controversy and strong audience reactions and yet the team appears completely comfortable embracing that risk and that confidence is rare.

Although the teaser does not reveal much about individual characters, every female character shown carries a certain dominance and mystery. Rather than simply functioning as supporting glamour elements, the women here seem deeply connected to the film’s central conflict. The teaser overall feels unfiltered and completely unhinged. There is a certain chaotic energy running throughout the entire promotional cut. It almost feels rebellious, It feels like the makers intentionally wanted audiences to feel uncomfortable, intrigued and curious at the same time.

However, the teaser is not completely Perfect, The one noticeable weak area currently appears to be VFX work, Few portions visually suggest that post-production is still incomplete. But considering the film is still under production, this is not a major concern at the moment. The second concern could be the film’s controversial narrative angle. The man VS woman conflict, sensual presentation and bold storytelling choices may not sit comfortably with certain sections of audiences, especially those who prefer traditional commercial cinema or are sensitive toward socially divisive narratives.

AS KBP REVIEW REPORTED, Phars Film, one of the strongest overseas distributors in Gulf territories, has secured major international rights for the Indian-language versions. At the same time, producers are exploring a separate large-scale international release strategy for the English-language version, aiming beyond traditional Indian diaspora markets. Director Geetu Mohandas also remains one of the most interesting factors behind the project Known for her unconventional filmmaking style and international festival credibility, Geetu directing a large-scale Yash film was already an unexpected combination.

Now after watching the teaser, her influence is clearly visible. This does not feel like a typical mainstream commercial entertainer. One of the strongest teaser launches in recent times.
Rating (Teaser): 4.5/5 Toxic has arrived… and it looks ready to create absolute chaos.

Unlike KGF, which was rooted in mass action storytelling, Toxic explores a far darker world involving crime syndicates, emotional power struggles and complex female-driven character arcs.

The film stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and multiple, each female character plays a highly important role within the story rather than simply supporting the hero narrative.

The film is being simultaneously shot in both Kannada and English, something extremely rare for Indian cinema.

After KGF turned Yash into a pan-India superstar, Toxic feels like his attempt at something much bigger.
