Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups delivered a massive ₹101.10 crore net on its opening day in India, entering the elite ₹100 crore club on Day 1 itself.
The Geetu Mohandas directorial also grossed around ₹140.75 crore worldwide, including ₹120.75 crore from India and approximately ₹20 crore from overseas markets.
According to KBP REVIEW figures reported by multiple trade trackers. The opening becomes even more significant because Toxic is a standalone film, yet it attracted enormous numbers across multiple languages.
The film played across 24,579 shows on its first day and recorded overall occupancy of around 56.1%.Hindi Market Turns Out To Be The Biggest Surprise. The biggest talking point from Toxic’s opening is undoubtedly its Hindi performance.
The Hindi version collected approximately ₹55 crore net on Day 1, making it the film’s largest language contributor. Kannada followed with ₹23.30 crore, Telugu with ₹16 crore, Tamil with ₹5.50 crore and Malayalam with ₹1.30 crore.

Toxic has now reportedly surpassed KGF: Chapter 2’s Hindi opening of around ₹53.95 crore. This achievement becomes particularly noteworthy for Yash, whose popularity in the Hindi belt has expanded dramatically following the KGF franchise.
The numbers show that Yash’s appeal now extends far beyond Karnataka and the South Indian markets. More than half of the film’s domestic opening came from markets outside Karnataka, highlighting the scale of his pan-India following.
A ₹100 Crore Opening Despite Mixed Reviews:
Yash’s performance and the film’s technical scale have earned appreciation from sections of the audience, while several reviews have criticised the screenplay, pacing and excessive violence.
The film has received mixed to negative critical reactions, with some reviewers arguing that its visual ambition and action overshadow the emotional storytelling.

Still, entering the ₹100 crore club on Day 1 puts Toxic in an extremely exclusive group. The film has also moved ahead of major blockbusters including Jawan, Salaar, Adipurush, Devara and Kalki 2898 AD on the India net opening-day chart.
Worldwide Opening Also Packs A Punch:
Toxic reportedly collected ₹140.75 crore gross worldwide on Day 1, comprising ₹120.75 crore from India and approximately ₹20 crore from overseas markets. Worldwide opening days for an Indian release, although it remains below titles such as Pushpa 2, Dhurandhar 2, RRR, Baahubali 2, Kalki 2898 AD and KGF: Chapter 2.
Day 2: Hindi Occupancy Drops, But Is That A Concern?
The Hindi version recorded around 17.08% morning occupancy on Thursday, compared with 54.73% on Day 1. The sharp decline was expected to some extent because the opening day was a holiday, while Day 2 fell on a working day.
According to the latest live tracking available, Toxic had already added approximately ₹2.43 crore net by the time of reporting, taking its India net total to around ₹103.53 crore.
Interestingly, the latest live occupancy across languages showed 44.1% for Hindi, 77.3% for Kannada, 52.4% for Telugu, 36.4% for Tamil and 52.6% for Malayalam at the time of reporting. These figures indicate that the film continues to attract substantial demand across its core markets.
The Weekend Will Decide The Real Story
The ₹101.10 crore opening has already established Toxic as a major theatrical event But the more important question now is how much momentum the film can retain.
The opening day benefited from enormous advance bookings, with more than 18.48 lakh tickets sold before release and advance collections reportedly crossing ₹73 crore, including blocked seats.
