The Marvel superhero film has turned into a global box-office phenomenon, with its historic India run adding another major chapter to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man legacy

The Sony-Marvel superhero spectacle has emerged as the biggest theatrical blockbusters of 2026, with its North American run racing past major all-time benchmarks while India has delivered an extraordinary response. The film has now entered a territory that looked extremely difficult for a Hollywood release just a few years ago.

And the most interesting part? The run is showing no signs of slowing down. Spider-Man: Brand New Day Crosses $691 Million In North America

After 12 days in North American cinemas, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has grossed approximately $691 million, putting it firmly among the biggest domestic performers in Hollywood history.

The film added around $20 million on its second Tuesday, registering a drop of roughly 52% from the previous Tuesday. That performance was strong enough to rank among the biggest second Tuesdays ever recorded. It remained just behind Spider-Man: No Way Home, which earned around $21.3 million on its second Tuesday.

With the film sitting at approximately $691 million, the $700 million milestone is now practically within touching distance. The latest domestic tracking indicates that the Tom Holland starrer has already moved past the lifetime North American grosses of several major blockbusters, including Titanic, Avengers: Infinity War and Avatar: The Way of Water.

As KBP TRADE REPORTS , suggests that the film could add another major surge over the coming weekend, potentially taking its North American total towards or beyond $800 million. Some early projections are even discussing the possibility of a finish close to the $1 billion mark domestically if the exceptionally strong legs continue.

India Has Turned Into Another Major Success Story – India has arguably produced the most impressive stories of the entire run.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reached approximately ₹523.64 crore gross by Day 14, after adding around ₹100 crore during its second week alone. The film is now eyeing the ₹550 crore mark, with its extraordinary hold giving it a realistic shot at going considerably higher.

The film had already crossed the ₹500 crore milestone in India and established itself as the biggest Hollywood grosser in the country, overtaking Avatar: The Way of Water. That achievement becomes even more significant when one considers the level of competition Hollywood films have faced in the Indian market.

The second weekend was particularly impressive. The film collected approximately ₹14.75 crore on Friday, ₹30.50 crore on Saturday and ₹32.25 crore on Sunday, taking the second weekend to around ₹77.50 crore nett.

The gross figures, including 3D revenue, are even bigger – The film arrived with enormous advance bookings, becoming one of the biggest Hollywood advance-booking stories ever seen in India. Before release, trade tracking showed the film selling more than 1.47 lakh opening-day tickets across PVR INOX and Cinepolis, with the film eventually building one of the strongest pre-release runs of the year.

The film experienced some weekday drops after its gigantic first week, leading to questions about whether the initial craze would translate into long term box-office stability. Those concerns, however, quickly disappeared once the second weekend arrived.

The Saturday-Sunday jump showed that audiences were continuing to choose Spider-Man in large numbers. That is usually the difference between a film that simply opens big and a film that becomes an all-time blockbuster.

India’s ₹600 Crore Target Is Suddenly Alive – At one stage, ₹600 crore in India looked like an extremely ambitious target.

With the film already above ₹520 crore gross and still maintaining strong theatrical momentum, the next few days will determine whether it can get close to the ₹600 crore mark.

The film’s ability to attract audiences even during weekdays is particularly important. The latest run suggests that premium formats, repeat audiences, dubbed versions and the sheer strength of the Spider-Man brand are working together.

The film has also mobilised around 1.65 crore admission in India, bringing it within striking distance of the extraordinary TWO CRORE FOOTFALL benchmark.

Globally, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already entered the $1.6 billion-plus club, with the film reaching approximately $1.67 billion worldwide after its second weekend.

The second weekend alone delivered roughly $143-145 million domestically, while the international markets added approximately $236 million. That took the film’s worldwide total to around $1.67 billion in just about 10 days.

The overseas performance has been particularly spectacular. The international market has crossed the $1 billion mark, with China emerging as the film’s strongest territories. Reports indicate that China had contributed around $186.7 million by the second weekend, while the United Kingdom and Mexico had also delivered substantial numbers.

Spider-Man: No Way Home remains the benchmark for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, having grossed around $1.92 billion worldwide.

Brand New Day has already crossed the halfway point of that number at extraordinary speed.

The film’s current trajectory has naturally led to comparisons with No Way Home, although matching its final worldwide total will still require exceptionally strong legs over the coming weeks.

The good news for Sony is that the film isn’t showing the kind of collapse that would normally follow such a massive opening.

A second weekend drop of around 60% may sound significant in isolation, but considering the gigantic opening weekend, the film’s absolute earnings remain enormous. Its daily performance has also remained powerful enough to keep the film ahead of several historical box-office benchmarks.

That is why a $2 billion worldwide finish is now a genuine possibility, rather than merely fan speculation.

The Spider-Man Brand Has Once Again Proved Its Power – Perhaps the biggest takeaway from Brand New Day is not just the numbers but what the performance says about the Spider-Man character.

There had been plenty of discussion around superhero fatigue following several underwhelming comic-book releases in recent years. Marvel’s wider box-office struggles had also raised questions about whether audiences were still willing to turn up in massive numbers for another superhero sequel.

Spider-Man has provided a very clear answer – The film’s trailer itself had already generated extraordinary interest before release. Its first trailer crossed 1 billion views in just four days, becoming the first MCU movie trailer to reach that milestone, while also breaking a massive 24-hour viewing record.
