The Mirzapur madness is officially back and this time, the bhaukaal is coming to the big screen. The trailer of ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ has finally arrived, and if there is one word to describe the first impression, it is explosive. From the return of the characters audiences have loved for years to the guns, atmosphere, dialogues, action and larger than life presentation, the trailer delivers exactly the kind of adrenaline rush that the franchise demanded from its theatrical outing.
The biggest strength of the trailer is that it does not try to turn Mirzapur into something it is not. The franchise has always been about power, revenge, violence, ambition and the never ending fight for the Gaddi and the film appears to retain that core identity while significantly increasing the cinematic scale. The result is familiar but at the same time noticeably bigger.
At the centre of the trailer are the faces that made the franchise a cult phenomenon. Pankaj Tripathi’s Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal’s Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu’s Munna Bhaiya are once again at the heart of the chaos.
The return of Munna Bhaiya is obviously the biggest talking points. His character had become iconic personalities of the original series and his comeback for the movie has already triggered huge excitement among fans.Kaleen Bhaiya still carries that calm, intimidating authority. Guddu still has the aggression and hunger for power. And Munna brings the unpredictable madness that made him such a memorable part of the franchise. Put these three energies together and the trailer immediately feels like Mirzapur again.
The original Mirzapur worked brilliantly on OTT because of its characters, writing, atmosphere and slow-burning power struggles. But bringing that world to cinemas means the filmmakers need to offer something that feels worthy of the big screen.
There are bigger action sequences, wider landscapes, intense confrontations and a scale that goes beyond the familiar streets and interiors of Mirzapur. Earlier footage had already teased desert locations and large-scale action, while the new trailer pushes that cinematic ambition further.
The guns, cars, violence and visual atmosphere all feel designed for a theatrical experience And then there is the background score.
The BGM gives the trailer a sense of urgency and scale without taking away the personality of the franchise. Every action beat feels heavier because of the music and that is exactly what a theatrical Mirzapur trailer needed.
The trailer therefore keeps the franchise’s gritty identity intact while giving it a more cinematic treatment. Singh previously directed episodes of the original series, and his familiarity with this world is visible in the way the characters and atmosphere have been handled.
The film is written by Puneet Krishna, the creator and writer behind the original franchise, while Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar are producing under Excel Entertainment, with Amazon MGM Studios presenting the theatrical expansion.
While Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu remain the main attractions, the film has assembled a huge ensemble around them.
Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Abhishek Banerjee, Sheeba Chaddha, Harshita Gaur, Rajesh Tailang and Mohit Malik return to the world, while newcomers including Ravi Kishan, Sonal Chauhan and Jitendra Kumar add fresh faces to the conflict.
Jitendra Kumar’s casting is particularly interesting because he takes over the role of Bablu Pandit, originally played by Vikrant Massey in the series. The casting change has already generated discussion among fans, but the trailer gives audiences their first proper opportunity to see how the character fits into this new chapter.
Mirzapur debuted on Prime Video in 2018 and became one of India’s most recognisable crime franchises. After three seasons, the world is now making the jump from television and mobile screens to cinemas. Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment have positioned the movie as a larger theatrical continuation of the franchise.

Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’ has officially shifted its release date to December 4, 2026, with the makers avoiding a direct clash with Yash’s highly anticipated Toxic. The move gives the film a new window, although it now places Eetha in competition with Prabhas’ upcoming action drama FauZi.
The decision is particularly interesting because Eetha was previously positioned around the Raksha Bandhan period.
The film marks another collaboration between producer Dinesh Vijan and director Laxman Utekar, following the success of Chhaava. Shraddha Kapoor is expected to headline the project in a strong, author backed role, with Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub also playing pivotal parts.
However, December is already becoming increasingly crowded with major releases, meaning Eetha will still need a strong promotional campaign to establish its own identity.
The film’s new release date also creates an interesting non-holiday battle with FauZi. Unlike a festival weekend, December 4 does not come with the same holiday advantage, making audience interest, reviews and word of mouth even more important.
For Shraddha, the film also arrives at an interesting point in her career. After the blockbuster success of Stree 2, expectations around her next major theatrical appearance remain high.
