The media reactions have been particularly harsh, with many users saying they had to revisit the original song immediately after watching this version “to recover.”
The criticism isn’t just about comparison of it’s about how casually iconic songs are being repackaged without understanding what made them timeless in the first place.
For Varun Dhawan, the track was expected to generate chartbuster momentum, but the response so far has been largely disappointing.
At this point, Bollywood seriously needs to stop treating nostalgia as a shortcut because not every classic song needs a remake, especially not like this.
