Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has completed its first week at the box office with a worldwide gross of around ₹315 crore.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic saw a significant drop during the weekdays but managed to register a marginal improvement on Day 7.
According to the KBP REVIEW trade tracking figures, Toxic collected approximately ₹7.85 crore net in India on Day 7, taking its domestic net total to ₹229.60 crore. The film has earned around ₹274.25 crore in India gross while the overseas markets have contributed approximately ₹40.75 crore. This takes the reported worldwide gross to the ₹315 crore mark.
The Day 7 figure stands out because Toxic had dropped to ₹7.65 crore on Day 6. The latest estimate therefore shows a modest recovery. The film has now entered its second week, and its performance over the coming weekend will determine whether it can regain momentum.
Toxic Box Office Collection Day 7: Film Shows Small Recovery
Toxic opened in theatres on August 26 with a massive start. The film reportedly collected ₹101.10 crore net in India on its opening day, immediately demonstrating the scale of Yash’s theatrical pull following the success of the KGF franchise.
However, the film’s first week trajectory changed considerably after the opening day. Toxic collected around ₹37.65 crore on Day 2, ₹27.20 crore on Day 3, ₹25.15 crore on Day 4 and ₹23 crore on Day 5. The film then dropped sharply to ₹7.65 crore on Day 6 before registering a small recovery with approximately ₹7.85 crore on Day 7.
With these collections, Toxic has crossed the ₹229 crore India net mark within seven days and now sits within reach of the ₹250 crore milestone.
Hindi Version Continues to Lead?
The Hindi version has emerged as the biggest contributor to Toxic’s domestic collections during the first week. On Day 7, the Hindi version reportedly contributed around ₹5.25 crore net, while the Kannada version added ₹1.75 crore.
Telugu contributed approximately ₹60 lakh, whereas Tamil and Malayalam added around ₹20 lakh and ₹5 lakh respectively. The language-wise performance holds major importance for Toxic because the makers mounted the film as a pan-Indian release.
The Hindi market continued to provide substantial support on Day 7. The film recorded a reported overall Hindi occupancy of 23.54%. Morning shows registered 14.15% occupancy, afternoon shows recorded 22.38%, evening shows reached 22.92%, and night shows recorded 34.69%.
Kannada Market Shows Better Occupancy
The Kannada version recorded a higher overall occupancy of 27.50% on Day 7. Morning shows registered 19.92% occupancy, while afternoon shows reached 31.23%. Evening shows recorded 24.23%, followed by 29.46% occupancy during night shows.
These numbers show that the film has slowed down considerably from its opening-week peak but Toxic continues to attract theatrical audiences across multiple markets.
Mixed Reviews Have Become a Talking Point
The film has received praise for Yash’s screen presence, production design, cinematography and ambitious visual presentation. However, several critics have raised concerns about the screenplay, pacing and emotional coherence.
Yash Remains the Biggest Strength of Toxic
Even among reviews that have criticised the film itself, audiences and critics have generally singled out Yash’s performance as one of its strongest elements.
Toxic places Yash in an intense gangster world setting and builds its narrative around his character and his relationships with the other central figures. His performance has helped the film maintain audience attention even as discussions around the screenplay continue.
The film also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi in important roles. Yash’s return after KGF: Chapter 2, combined with the film’s large ensemble cast, generated significant pre-release anticipation.
