Ramayana Part 1: Sunny Deol’s Hanuman Set for Climax Reveal; CinemaCon Footage Showed a Never-Seen-Before Avatar

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 1 may have saved one of its biggest surprises for the very end. According to a latest report by KBP REVIEW, Sunny Deol’s Lord Hanuman could appear during the climax of the first instalment with the makers deliberately keeping his look out of the trailer and most promotional material.

A select audience at an exclusive CinemaCon 2026 presentation in Las Vegas saw a brief piece of footage featuring Deol as Hanuman earlier this year.

The strategy could turn the ending of Ramayana Part 1 into a major theatrical talking point. Audiences have already seen Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, but Sunny Deol’s Hanuman remains the one major character whose complete cinematic reveal the makers have kept under wraps.

Sunny Deol’s Hanuman Could Become Ramayana Part 1’s Biggest Surprise

The absence of Hanuman from the theatrical trailer immediately became one of the biggest talking points after the makers released the trailer in July.

The more than four minute trailer showcased several important characters and gave audiences an extensive look at the visual world Tiwari and his team created but it did not show Sunny Deol’s Hanuman in a proper sequence.

That omission now appears increasingly deliberate.

The makers could save Hanuman’s introduction for a major moment later in the story. Director Nitesh Tiwari also confirmed that Part 1 would end on a cliffhanger designed to make audiences want to return immediately for the second instalment.

Now, the film could conclude with Sunny Deol’s appearance as Lord Hanuman. The makers could place the reveal in the final sequence or potentially around the end credit portion.

The publication also reports that the team hopes to generate a Baahubali style response by ending the film with a major reveal.

CinemaCon Audience Reportedly Saw a Glimpse of Hanuman

The mystery surrounding Deol’s look is not entirely new. A select group of industry professionals attending the CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas in April watched exclusive footage from Ramayana.

That footage reportedly included a brief glimpse of Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. An industry source quoted by the publication described the actor’s appearance as a “never before seen avatar” and suggested that the makers have deliberately kept the look away from the public.

Why the Makers May Save Hanuman for the Climax

The decision also makes narrative sense. Hanuman becomes one of the most important figures during the latter portion of the Ramayana, particularly as Lord Ram moves towards Lanka and prepares for his eventual confrontation with Ravana.

The first film will not cover the entire epic. The makers have divided the story into two parts, with the second instalment scheduled to arrive during Diwali 2027.

Ranbir Kapoor himself has revealed that the major Ram Ravana confrontation will happen later in the story, with the pivotal portions arriving in the second film.

This makes a Hanuman reveal at the end of Part 1 potentially useful on two levels. The character can provide an emotional payoff to the first chapter while simultaneously setting up the larger events of Ramayana Part 2.

Sunny Deol’s Hanuman Was Deliberately Missing From the Trailer

The trailer’s omission created considerable discussion among viewers. Mint reported that audiences remained particularly curious about Sunny Deol’s absence despite the actor’s official association with the film as Hanuman.

The character’s absence could connect with the narrative structure, especially because Hanuman plays a larger role later in the epic.

The makers had already introduced Deol as Hanuman at the grand Ramayana promotional event in Delhi in July. The actor made a surprise appearance and received a huge response from the audience, while Ranbir Kapoor welcomed him by touching his feet.
