The actress gives fans a glimpse of her unusual Nadia avatar as Yash starrer prepares for its worldwide theatrical release
The countdown to Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups has begun, and Kiara Advani has added fresh intrigue with a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the highly anticipated film. The actress, who plays Nadia, shared a striking BTS picture while reflecting on how the project pushed her into unfamiliar situations and helped her discover new experiences as an actor.
In the picture, Kiara reclines on a large transparent circus-like apparatus filled with water, surrounded by blue lighting. Dressed in an oversized white shirt with black stockings, the actress appears to be part of one of the film’s unusual and visually stylised setups.
Sharing the image, Kiara spoke about the process of stepping into unfamiliar worlds for every new film. She said that every character, set and challenge teaches her something she did not know she was capable of, adding that she has learned to “stay curious” and find joy in the adventure of filmmaking.
For Kiara, however, Toxic appears to have been more than simply another acting assignment. The actress has previously credited both Yash and director Geetu Mohandas for believing that she could bring Nadia to life. She revealed that the two “manifested” her for the role and believed in her capabilities even before she realised how far she could take the character.
Kiara’s Nadia Promises A Different Side Of The Actress – While Toxic is primarily being marketed around Yash’s gangster character Raya, Kiara’s Nadia has gradually emerged as one of the film’s biggest talking points.
The actress has described the role as one of the creatively fulfilling parts of her career, particularly because it allowed her to explore a side of herself that audiences have not seen before. Her comments came amid discussions around the film’s treatment of its female characters and the unusually stylised world Geetu Mohandas created.
The latest BTS image adds another layer to that curiosity. The picture showcases the eccentric production design and experimental visual language that Toxic appears to embrace.
The film itself is set in pre-liberation Goa, where Portuguese rule, crime, power struggles and betrayal form the backdrop for Raya’s story. According to the currently listed synopsis, the narrative explores loyalty, morality and the possibility of redemption amid a violent world.
For an actress who has already worked across romantic dramas, action entertainers and big-scale franchises, Toxic appears to represent another creative shift. The film places her inside Geetu Mohandas’ dark and atmospheric universe, alongside Yash, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
Interestingly, the film’s promotional material initially attracted criticism because its early teaser gave most of the dialogue and attention to Yash, despite featuring several prominent female characters.
The CBFC has certified the film A, while its Kannada version has a reported runtime of around 3 hours and 14 minutes.
The film has also received an adult classification in the UK, with the certification reportedly reflecting its intense violence and injury detail.
The scale of the final theatrical experience will now be closely watched, particularly because the film has been positioned as a dark, adult-oriented action drama rather than a conventional mass entertainer.
The makers have also released the latest trailer launch event across Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, reinforcing their pan-India approach. Kiara herself has actively promoted the film, recently describing the project as an experience that pushed her into new territory.
