Ajay Devgn Returns As Vijay Salgaonkar In ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’; Film To Release On October 2, 2026

The third chapter gets an official title and first poster as the popular thriller franchise moves towards its most crucial chapter yet – The wait is finally over.

Ajay Devgn is returning as Vijay Salgaonkar and this time, the makers are calling it Drishyam: The Conclusion.

The announcement immediately brought back memories of one of Bollywood’s most loved crime-thriller franchises.

The new poster features an intense close-up of Ajay Devgn’s eye along with the line, “Mera Sach, Mera Sahi, Sirf Meri Family Hai”, once again putting Vijay’s family at the centre of everything. For fans, that line is more than just a tagline. Vijay Salgaonkar has always operated on one simple principle protecting his family at any cost.

Drishyam: The Conclusion appears ready to take that philosophy into its most dangerous phase yet. The previous two films built the character around deception, police investigation and the question of how far a father can go to save his family.

The third chapter now has the difficult task of taking that story forward without losing the essence that made the franchise so successful.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film has been written by Pathak along with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. The project is presented by Star Studio18 and produced by Panorama Studios, with Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak backing the film.

Tabu Returns, While New Faces Enter The Franchise

Ajay Devgn will be joined once again by Tabu and Shriya Saran, reprising their respective characters. Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav are also returning, while the third instalment expands the cast with actors including Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj.

Interestingly, director Abhishek Pathak had earlier indicated that the Hindi version would have a different track, even as it remains connected to the larger Drishyam universe. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Pathak and producer Kumar Mangat Pathak discussed the film and the direction in which the Hindi franchise is heading.

The biggest danger for any Drishyam sequel is becoming predictable. Audiences already know Vijay is capable of staying several steps ahead of the police.

Why The Title ‘The Conclusion’ Matters

The makers are not calling this simply Drishyam 3. They have deliberately gone with Drishyam: The Conclusion, strongly suggesting that the Hindi franchise is preparing to close Vijay Salgaonkar’s story.

That makes the October 2 release more significant than a regular franchise release. The audience is not just returning for another mystery; they are potentially returning to see how Vijay’s entire journey comes to an end.

The title also creates a natural question: Will Vijay finally get caught, or will he once again find a way to protect his family? The Malayalam Franchise Is Taking A Different Route There is an interesting twist to the larger Drishyam universe. While the Hindi version is being positioned as The Conclusion, the original Malayalam franchise is continuing.

Mohanlal’s Malayalam Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph, has already been released, and producer Antony Perumbavoor has confirmed plans for a fourth instalment, bringing Georgekutty back once again. The choice of October 2 also gives Drishyam: The Conclusion a strong festive-period release window.

With Ajay Devgn returning to one of his most popular characters and the franchise carrying enormous familiarity, the film could become one of the major Hindi releases of the festive season. Can Vijay Salgaonkar finally escape his past? Will the police uncover what really happened? And most importantly, what happens to the family he has spent the entire franchise protecting?

Those are the questions the makers are carefully keeping under wraps. For now, the poster has done exactly what it needed to do, remind audiences that Vijay Salgaonkar is back, and this time, it could be his final game.
